hello there lovelies!
I received this palette from my boyfriends' parents in my stocking for Christmas. I have never heard of the brand, but I'm sure they picked it up at a discount department store, but I am not sure whether they got it in Canada at Winner's or in the states on one of their many trips there (Marshall's, TJMaxx...etc). They also forgot to take off the price sticker. I would definitely say from first impression that it is a wannabe Urban Decay Naked Palette, especially from first glance.
There are 10 shades of shadow in this palette, ranging in colours, and textures from matte to chunky shimmers. There is also a black eyeliner included in the palette and a sponge applicator, that I have no use for.
The eyeliner doesn't seem terrible, it is a bit waxy but it may stick well to the waterline, we will have to see.
The first shade is a silvery pink, it was a little chunky and took very little blending, I actually love the shade and definitely think I will get some use from it. The second shade was the worst of the first 5. It was extremely chunky and required a lot of blending but the shade is a nice dark shimmery taupe in the end. The middle and last shade are very similar in texture, the middle is a shimmery gold and the last is a shimmery copper. The second last shade is a somewhat matte brown. The matte shades definitely need to built up, they are quite sheer but I wasn't unimpressed with the colour payout.
The last five shades were a little more disappointing. The first shade was actually pretty good, very similar to the shade before, just a little more on the brown side. The next two and the last shade were all matte and were very build-able, but the first of the mattes was the best. The other two were both just dark grays, the last a little darker than the previous. Finally, the second last colour was like the other shimmer shades, most like the second shade in the palette.
I definitely have mixed feelings about this palette. Some shades are really chunky and soft and have A LOT of fall out, but once they are blended (I just rubbed where the excess was downward to build up the colour) they don't seem so bad, they just might be a bit tricky to work with.
I was really hoping that I had found a dupe for the Naked Palette...not quite but I think I will get a little use from this gift!
